Join as AMIE – Associate member of Institution of Engineers.
Eligibility: Should have 21 years of age / BE/B.Tech / Sec A&B Exam. Of IEI or equivalent and Shall be engaged/ shall have been engaged in the design or execution or operation of Engineering works
Join as MIE – Member of Institution of Engineers.
Age: Minimum 30 years on the date of application. Qualification recognized by the Institution and included in the rules and syllabi shall be accepted for various classes of membership. Other qualification may be accepted in consultation with the Equivalence Committee.
Experience:Minimum post-qualification experience should be 8 years. In case of Self-Employed/ Consultant Engineers or those holding relatively lower position of responsibility like Sub Asst Engineer, Supervisor, Overseer etc. minimum requirement of post qualification experience should be 10 years. In case of persons having passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations, period of experience shall be reckoned from the date of passing Section A Examination subject to a maximum one year prior to the passing of Section B Examination.
Join as FIE: Fellow of Institution of Engineers
Fellow is the highest grade amongst the IEI Corporate Members category eligible to use designatory words FIE in their name. Fellow is awarded based on the knowledge, contribution and experience of the person in the respective engineering field after due scrutiny of the application by a board of eminent personalities.
Eligibility: Minimum 40 years on the date of application. BE/B.Tech or equivalent qualification recognized by the Institution shall be accepted for various classes of membership. Other qualification may be accepted in consultation with the Equivalence Committee. Any applicant with BE/B.Tech or equivalent qualification recognized by the Institution and a total post-qualification experience of atleast 15 years and holding a position of high responsibility.
